PinDone offers users a unique way to get things done. The application provides users with a crowdsourcing opportunity to complete simple tasks. Tasks can range from a professional delivery to a simple daily errand that the user does not have time to complete themselves. The user determines how much they are willing to pay for the task and posts it on PinDone. A PinDone runner can accept the task and complete it to earn the amount listed. User can also set up automated requests that allow them to post a recurring task each day or week. Runners are thoroughly investigated prior to being accepted by PinDone. The potential runner must supply personal and professional references, an ID or driver’s license, social security number and a full background check report.Show more screenshots »
PinDone was founded in February of 2011 by Dannie Nguyen and Sinisa Rakovic. The application was intended to provide a marketplace for local services. PinDone also supplies users with a way to complete tasks they might not have time to do as well as an opportunity to become a runner and complete tasks to earn some extra money on the side. The site currently offers its services to a number of users who appreciate the convenient and budget friendly options offered by PinDone.
PinDone stands in a rather small crowd of websites that allow users to provide random services to other users. The site supports any type of task (provided it is legal and legitimate). The user can find someone to make a quick across town delivery, someone to go shopping for them or someone to transport a friend or relative who has no car to a specified location. The site presents users with an appealing opportunity to either earn some cash or hire someone for an amount they can afford.
PinDone has an upbeat style that is enhanced by the dark pink color scheme found throughout the site. Users can get a feel for what goes on within the user community by viewing the sliding activity feed on the homepage. Users can easily learn what the site has to offer and dive right into available tasks lists, runner profiles or begin the sign up process to become a runner. The site is user friendly, runs very smoothly and offers users a fun environment to work within.
A new user can join the PinDone community by clicking the black “Sign Up” link in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage. A blue button at the top of the form on the next page invites users to sign up with an existing Facebook account. Users who prefer to create a new account can do so by filling out the form provided. The form asks for a nickname, email address and password. After submitting the form, the user is advised that they must check their email inbox for a message containing instructions to complete registration.
PinDone invites all users to try its service for free. There are no subscription fees required. The site does mention that a percentage of the money earned by runners is deducted by PinDone when funds are withdrawn, but it does not state how much that percentage is. It does mention that the larger the transaction, the lower the percentage will be. Users are given the option of payment by Paypal or a mailed check.
PinDone is a handy resource for anyone living in the San Diego and Los Angeles areas. These are the only two cities currently serviced by PinDone. Others will not be able to find runners in their area to complete tasks. Eventually the site will most likely expand however there is no further information on which cities may be included in the near future. Users in those areas that wish to make some extra cash can also apply to become a PinDone runner.
